Retail strategy reviews continue, Irish Hardware, 31st December 2007

A new major retail study was undertaken for Dublin area to assess the need for increased retail floor space. The Dublin and Mid East Regional Authorities have commissioned a major retail study of the greater Dublin area. The study will be carried out by UK-based Colliers CRE in conjunction with Colliers Jackson-Stops of Dublin.

Its purpose is to review the existing GDA Retail Strategy based on an ETZ retail study, and adopted in November 2001.

The study will comprise a telephone survey of 5000 households, street store surveys of young people and tourists, and consultation with key stakeholders in the industry.

The IHBMA will, on behalf of its members, be consulted with regard to the survey and its conclusions.
