135 acres at Corr House set to fuel active Cavan interest, by Shirley Busteed, Irish Farmers Journal, 24 May 2008

Last Wednesday, I made my way to Crossadoney, Co Cavan, to view one of the bigger farms to come on the market in the country so far this year, situated at Corr House, Cornafean, Co Cavan. Extending to 54.5 hectares (135 acres), this property has been in the hands of the Farris family for a long number of years and comes to the market with a gate lodge, a two-storey period residence, and some stone outbuildings. Over the years, the lady of the house used to keep a collection of vintage machinery called 'The Pig House Collection', which she displayed in her yard, right up until the latter end of her life.

Having turned off the main Ballinagh/Killeshandra road, I soon arrived at Corr House. And one thing for sure, there is no shortage of shelter. Once passed the gate lodge, you drive up a long avenue that takes you through some parkland and eventually culminates in front of the house. Everywhere you look, there are trees. These range from beech and oak to monkey puzzle and yew.

Leased out for the past 15 years, the farm is almost untouched with a combination of small fields coupled with thick natural hedgerows offering oodles of shelter.
