Historic Roscommon house and lands go under the hammer, Longford News & Athlone Voice, 27 May 2008

Carrowroe House, Athlone Road Roscommon, one of the finest properties to come on the market in recent years is being offered for sale by Auctioneer Pat Hughes.
Standing on circa 80 acres, the period residence was built in early 1800's and last owned by the late Mona and Brud Molloy.
The house is thought to have been originally built by clergyman in 1810 before becoming the family seat of the Goff family. The imposing residence consists of 12 bedrooms, 7 reception rooms, and basement which has the original kitchen.
Well maintained over the last number of years, the property is also being sold with the benefit of a large enclosed cut-stone court yard.
The yard incorporates numerous stables, four coach houses and former living accommodation for grooms.
Approximately fifty acres of land is in top quality condition with the rest making up woodland and bog.
Carrowroe is located less than one mile from Roscommon town convenient to the Golf Club. The property will be offered for sale by public auction on Thursday July 3rd 2008 at 3pm at The Abbey Hotel, Roscommon, unless previously sold.
It's thought that the total property will fetch in excess of €3.
The property will initially be sold in two lots: the house and up to twenty acres of land in one lot and the remainder of the lands in the other.
