A lot of interest in Carrowroe Park House, Longford News & Roscommon Champion, 24 June 2008

This week Pat Hughes & Co. Ltd. are reporting a lot of interest in Carrowroe Park House. The Georgian dwelling which stands on the outskirts of Roscommon town was built in 1810 by clergymen in the locality and was sold in 1816 to the Goff family.
The dwelling is approached via a long avenue which is surrounded by mature trees. The house has many period features including exceptional plasterwork. Accommodation consists of seven reception rooms, 12 bedrooms, basement and a number of out offices. The property also has the benefit of excellent road frontage on to two roads. There is a large walled court yard and stables with living accommodation adjacent to the property. Pat feels the property should sell at auction with the interest being generated in the last few weeks. The company will be offering the house and lands for sale, in one or three lots. Lot One: House, Court Yard, and circa 30 acres plus 13 acres of bog which is located at Mote Park approx one mile away. The remaining 50 acres of lands have extensive road frontage onto two roads. Approx. 30 acres of these lands are of top quality and the remaining 20 acres are made up of mature woodland.
The sale is being handled jointly by Pat Hughes of Pat Hughes & Co. Ltd and Mr Marcus Magnier of Colliers Jackson-Stops. Mr Gerard Neilan, Patrick J Neilan & Sons, Solicitors, Golf Links Road, Roscommon. Viewing is by appointment only.
