Equestrian venues on the market, Wicklow News & Kildare Post, 24 June 2008
Two of Co Wicklow's most up-market equestrian venues, both featuring stunning Georgian residences, have recently come on the market.
Nestled in 114 acres, Ballinteskin Stud is a spectacular country estate just outside picturesque Enniskerry and only 17 miles from Dublin city.
The restored 4,887 sq ft Georgian residence is tucked in beneath Sugar Loaf Mountains and offers beautiful sea views as well as three gracious reception rooms, a large conservatory sunroom, bespoke kitchen and five bedrooms.
Ballinteskin Stud's stunning mature gardens feature a pair of rhododendrons planted around 1850 and a short walk from the house is a helicopter hanger with concrete pad outside.
But the property is also a highly-respected working stud with a known pedigree. Anaglog's Daughter, the steeplechaser that won the Arkle trophy at Cheltenham in 1980, was breeding from the yard in the past and the equestrian facilities are second to none.
A total of 26 loose boxes are included in a stone outbuilding and American-style barn, the former also housing staff quarters. Near the courtyard is a foaling unit with observation room, while a large arena with all-weather waxed surface and viewing area as well as an indoor lunging arena large enough to school in are outside.
Ballinteskin Stud comes with a luxury-bracket price tag of €14 million.
Ballinteskin Stud is being offered by joint agents Savills Hamilton Osborne King and Colliers Jackson-Stops.
