Sales of Country Homes Expected to Top €150 Million in 2007
Ryder Cup Hero Launches Colliers Jackson-Stops Country Catalogue

Paul McGinley & Marcus Magnier

Colliers Jackson-Stops has launched its Country Catalogue featuring country properties totally value of over €150 million on offer. Officially launched by Paul McGinley at Macreddin Village, Co Wicklow, the catalogue is a must-have for buyers seeking high end country property in Ireland.

Commenting on the status of the market, Marcus Magnier, Director of Colliers Jackson-Stops said there has been a significant shift in the profile of buyers since the Country Catalogue was first produced in the early 1990s. “Back then buyers came mostly from the UK. Today there is still strong interest in Irish country properties from buyers in the UK as well as US and Europe but we are now seeing a strong trend towards Irish professionals seeking country homes for the lifestyle country living offers, whilst at the same time conducting business from home.”

“Looking back, our first catalogue was a very simple production featuring quite modest, gracious Georgian houses selling for around €250,000. Today’s 88-page Country Catalogue features properties ranging from €1m up to €16m. As well as changes in the market, changes have also taken place in our company, which has evolved from Jackson-Stops & McCabe, dealing solely with country property to today’s Colliers Jackson-Stops, a market leader in Country and Residential sales, with a strong presence in the Commercial, Industrial, Retail and Overseas Residential markets,” Magnier added.

The Colliers Jackson-Stops Country Catalogue was officially launched by Paul McGinley, recently named as Nick Faldo’s assistant for the Ryder Cup Team 2008. Commenting at the launch Paul said; “As someone with a keen interest in property I am delighted that our local market is so strong and continually growing. The Irish country properties like those featured in the Country Catalogue provide not just a beautiful, unique home, but an enviable way of life”.

The catalogue features over 30 exclusive country properties ranging from the important Tynte Park Estate in Co Wicklow to the Dromgarriff Estate with five exceptional houses on the beautiful West Cork coast. In addition it also features new luxurious developments in Wicklow such as Struan Hill and of course Macreddin Village, along with information on additional markets where Colliers Jackson-Stops has an ever-growing presence.
