THE Irish Stock Exchange has signed a long-term lease at 6 Foster Place, adjacent to its existing headquarters in the heart of Dublin's business district. Extending to around 230sqm, the 18th century Georgian building has been extensively refurbished by Shelbourne Developments to create a modern, state-of-the-art commercial office space.
The new lease agreement will facilitate an expansion of the Irish Stock Exchange's (ISE) current operation. Barry Smyth, at De Vere White & Smyth, acted on behalf of Shelbourne Development and Frank O'Neill at WK Nowlan acted for the ISE. The historic adjoining properties at No 5 and No 6 Foster Place were acquired by Shelbourne Development in 2005. No 5 is currently leased to The Ireland Fund. Both buildings are located across the street from Trinity College, adjoining the Bank of Ireland Headquarters.
Dublin 4
TWO headquarter office blocks on one of Dublin's most prestigious office locations are available through joint agents Kelly Walsh and HT Meagher O'Reilly.Haddington House and Hibernian House on Haddington Road, Dublin 4, are on offer on short-term lettings of up to a maximum of three years. Both properties have been acquired by Quinby Properties, controlled by Jerry Conlan. A planning application for the site is due to be lodged for a mixed-use development scheme early next year.

Mayo County Council has bought the former Provincial Bank building on Pearse/ Walsh Street in Ballina for €2.85m. It will house the priceless Jackie Clarke collection, which includes 22,000 items spanning more than 400 years of Irish history. Home of the Ruane family for the last 30 years, the property stands on a 0.33-acre site and has frontage to Pearse Street and Walsh Street, making it one of the most impressive buildings in Ballina.The property boasts period features including architraves, skirting, fireplaces and window shutters, and is expected to be tastefully refurbished.
An attractive limestone entrance provides the main access to the former banking hall, with a separate entrance providing access to the ground-floor living accommodation. This has a main staircase leading up to the first, second and third floors. It is also listed as a protected structure. Sherry FitzGerald Feeney West were the agents.
Bray
COLLIERS Jackson-Stops has commenced marketing the first-floor offices formerly occupied by SDL International at the Boulevard in Bray town centre. The recently refurbished space comprises a mix of open plan and cellular offices measuring 1,230sqm. Seventeen car parking spaces can also be made available.

Tempest to open 10 stores, The Irish Times, 24 October 2007
After opening its first Dublin store at the remodelled Omni shopping centre in Santry, Dublin 9, Northern Ireland retailer Tempest is planning to add 10 further outlets over the next three years.
"Tempest guarantees a first class fashion offer that will appeal to landlords of major shopping developments," says Shane Cahir of Colliers Jackson-Stops. "The company has agreed to lease a further three stores to open next year and we hope to announce the locations in the coming months."
Tempest is looking for trading opportunities on prime high streets and in provincial shopping centres. The company has been developed over the past seven years by fashion department store Menarys.
